Community for a Gymnast
Hi! My name is Ali. I started CrossFit in March of 2013. As a former gymnast, the combination of weightlifting, cardio and gymnastics piqued my interest. I immediately fell in love with the community atmosphere, and haven’t looked back since.
CrossFit, FlowFit and Mobility
I became CrossFit certified in November of 2013, and certified in FlowFit in August of 2016. I enjoy helping athletes increase their passive mobility, and teaching them to apply it actively to improve their movements. Not only are they able to position themselves better inside the gym, the daily aches and pains diminish as their mobility increases.
CrossFit plays a huge role in my life. The community aspect is what drew me in, and continues to inspire me to work harder as both a coach and an athlete. As a coach, there’s nothing better than seeing athletes give it their all, and reap the rewards when they see improvements in their performance. While hitting a huge new personal record is great, I appreciate the subtle victories the most; such as finding the perfect cue that helps a specific athlete, or seeing an athlete improve their body awareness little by little.
Well Rounded Fitness
As an athlete, my goal is to enjoy what I do. I want to portray a well rounded sense of fitness without focusing on specific movements or numbers to determine my success.
As a coach, my background in gymnastics causes me to be a stickler for form, but with high expectations comes high praise! I love giving compliments not only for obvious progress, but also for the effort and hard work that leads to those improvements. I want athletes of all experience levels to leave each session feeling accomplished, and also that they have been given the tools to continue to improve and progress.
