Michigan State and Rugby

Before I experienced CrossFit first hand, I experienced its capacity to generate enthusiasm and excitement. Nearly every day for several months, my friend came to our political theory class talking not of Aristotle and Locke, but instead nonstop about CrossFit.

Having just finished playing rugby at Michigan State, I decided to give it a try upon graduation. I quickly discovered new mentors and friends, and was welcomed to a supportive community.  Beyond feeding my competitive spirit and desire for self-improvement, CrossFit enticed my intellectual curiosity.  I discovered a new and vast world of movement theory, athlete development, and program design. I was hooked.

Coaching with Passion

I began my coaching career in January 2012 and have since earned my CrossFit-L2 coaching certificate, USA Weightlifting Sport Performance Coach, and CrossFit Gymnastics certificate. In order to continue developing as a coach, I am always in search of a broader base of experience and knowledge.

More importantly, through coaching others I discovered a passion to inspire people to make long-term, sustainable lifestyle changes. The community that has developed at Five Lakes reflects those values. We will help you improve at Five Lakes CrossFit, not only inside our walls, but outside as well.
