What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness class that mimics the experience of one-on-one training, but in the fun, interactive environment of a family-like group.
One Hour Session with Four Parts
Each hour-long session is broken into four parts: warm up, skill session, main workout of the day (WOD), and cool down. Within the structure of the class, athletes are encouraged to work at their own pace and ability level, though the classes are led by coaches who are there providing each athlete the attention they need to ensure everyone has a safe and effective workout.
The movements used in CrossFit are pulled from Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, gymnastics, and traditional aerobics. These elements are combined in different variations each day, so no two work outs are the same. Each movement in CrossFit can be modified or substituted with another movement to accommodate a wide range of individuals’ needs and ability levels.
Track Your WOD (Workout of the Day)
The goal of CrossFit is to increase your Fitness, which CrossFit defines as your ability to do Work. Work is a measurable quantity, so this definition of Fitness makes progress easy to track. Tracking progress makes the workout process less arbitrary, helps our athletes set realistic goals, and motivates them to push themselves. This is one of the reasons CrossFit is so effective.
In CrossFit you’re never bored, always challenged, surrounded by fellow athletes who are your biggest cheerleaders, and under the watchful eye of coaches whose number one goal is to help you become the best version of yourself.
